Walk and Talk Therapy
Walk and Talk Therapy offers an alternative to traditional counselling, combining therapeutic conversation with the calming benefits of being outdoors.
For many people, walking side-by-side in nature can feel less intense than sitting face-to-face, making it easier to open up, think clearly and talk more freely.
Walk and Talk Therapy
This approach is grounded in the same person-centred principles as my indoor therapy sessions, offering a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where you are heard, accepted and valued. The difference is the setting: gentle movement, fresh air and natural surroundings that can support emotional regulation and wellbeing.
How walk and talk therapy works
Sessions take place outdoors at a relaxed pace, allowing conversation to flow naturally. There is no pressure to maintain eye contact, and silences are welcomed just as much as words. Many clients find that walking helps ease anxiety, reduce feelings of overwhelm and support clearer thinking.
Walk and Talk Therapy may be particularly helpful if you:
-
Feel anxious or uncomfortable in a traditional therapy room
-
Find it easier to talk while moving
-
Feel stuck or overwhelmed
-
Experience stress, low mood or anxiety
-
Benefit from time in nature as part of your wellbeing
As with all my work, sessions are led by you and move at your pace. We focus on what feels important to you in the moment, supporting self-awareness, reflection and personal growth.
A flexible, client-centred approach
I adapt each session to suit your individual needs, respecting your comfort, boundaries and preferences. Walk and Talk Therapy can be a short-term or ongoing option and may suit adults and young people, depending on individual circumstances and needs.
If at any point outdoor sessions no longer feel right, we can explore alternative ways of working together.
